Humana Update

Important Information for Patients with Humana Insurance

We are very pleased to report through collaborative efforts, Floyd Memorial and Humana have been able to agree on terms for a new contract.

As you may be aware, in May Floyd Memorial provided Humana with a 180-day notice to end our current contract covering Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services. At that time we were faced with a situation in which the payment rates included in our contract with Humana fell far short of what we believed was fair and in line with the market. Since payment rates from private insurance companies are so critical to our financial stability, we knew we had to address this problem with Humana.

We are very pleased to report that the situation has now been resolved. You can still access care at Floyd Memorial the same way as before, and will continue to have in-network access to care at Floyd Memorial.

Over the years Floyd Memorial has worked hard to provide high-quality services, while always looking for ways to provide care more efficiently and eliminating any unnecessary costs.  At the same time, it is important that the payments we receive from private insurance companies be in line with the market. We believe we now have that with Humana.
