Floyd Memorial’s Foundation has a new leader at its helm, Ruth Heideman, RN, BSN. Assuming her new role as executive director, Ruth may be new to the position but she has many years of experience with both the Foundation and the Hospital.
Ruth started at Floyd Memorial in 1968 as a staff nurse and worked her way up to her most recent clinical role as director of Surgical Services. Along with her familiarity with the hospital and its key leaders, Ruth has been an active member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors since 1994.
Frank Heinz, chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, was involved in the decision to hire Ruth.
“I believe the Board is extremely excited to have Ruth in this position. Her longevity with Floyd Memorial and her breadth and depth of experience in working with the associates and medical staff is an asset that is not easily duplicated.”
The primary focus of the Floyd Memorial Foundation is to help fund important programs, services and health screenings for the community, as well as scholarships for future medical professionals.
Ruth looks forward to embracing the Foundation’s past accomplishments and to foster an even greater environment of giving. She noted, “Our Foundation’s mission is to support our Hospital to enhance the quality of healthcare in our community. The positive impact we have had has touched many lives in our community, and I am so excited to continue to be part of that vision.”
