Grant Allows Patients Access to Massage Therapy

May 2, 2008

The human touch is powerful. In fact, research shows that therapeutic massage can relieve pain, anxiety, fatigue and nausea for ill patients. It can also improve immunity levels, stimulate the brain to release painreducing endorphins, improve muscle tone and flexibility and promote faster healing time. Thanks to a charitable grant of $5,000 from the Harrison County Community Foundation, Floyd Memorial massage therapists can now bring their healing touch to more patients in need of the comforting effects of massage. The grant is allocated for Floyd Memorial patients residing in Harrison County and experiencing pain and discomfort.
