Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services is pleased to welcome board certified General Surgeon Carolyn Day, MD, FACS, to its medical staff.

“We are pleased to have a surgeon of Dr. Day’s talents and credentials join our medical staff,” said Joseph Bruckman, MD, Floyd Memorial’s Medical Director. “Attracting quality surgeons such as Dr. Day further demonstrates the confidence that the medical community in our region places on Floyd Memorial and our ability to provide exceptional care.”

Dr. Day is now accepting new patients at her office located at 700 East Spring Street in New Albany.  The practice includes general surgeons James McCullough, MD and Julie Hutchinson, MD, as well. Patients interested in an appointment with Dr. Day should call (812) 944-6488.

The arrival of Dr. Day coincides with Floyd Memorial’s recent announcement that they were once again ranked in the top 5 percent of hospitals nationwide for clinical excellence by HealthGrades, the nation’s leading independent healthcare ratings organization. In addition to this important achievement, the general surgery program also received top distinctions, including being ranked among the top 5 percent in the nation for gastrointestinal surgery, receiving the HealthGrades Gastrointestinal Surgery Excellence AwardÔ, and ranking in the top two gastrointestinal surgery programs in the state of Indiana.

Board certified in general surgery; Dr. Day graduated from the East Carolina University School of Medicine in 1999. She then completed an internship and residency in general surgery at UofL in 2004.
