Floyd Memorial Hospital Hosts Free “Meet the Surgeons” Informational Seminar on Joint Replacement Surgery

March 4, 2009

Weighing the pros and cons and making the decision whether or not to have joint replacement surgery is an important choice many people must make.  Being informed about what to expect before, during and after surgery, and knowing and trusting your surgeon, are all critical in making that decision.

Floyd Memorial Hospital will be hosting a free “Meet the Surgeons-Discovering the Benefits of Joint Replacement Surgery” seminar featuring Orthopedic Surgeons John Conner, MD and Edward Bell, MD, on Saturday, March 21 from 9:30 to11:30 a.m in the Paris Health Educaton Center.  Discussion will include the benefits of total knee and hip replacement surgery.  In addition to the surgeons’ presentations, Kay Vannoy, PT, will explain the role of physical therapy in the recovery process, and Kayla Cook, RN, will cover what to expect pre- and post-op, followed by an opportunity to tour the hospital’s brand new Surgical Inpatient Unit.  A complimentary breakfast will be served.

Pre-registration is required to attend, call 1-800-4-SOURCE or visit www.floydmemorial.com to register
