Since its inception 11 years ago, the Family Health Center of Floyd County has been able to depend on the financial support of the Floyd Memorial Foundation to continue its mission to provide the uninsured or underinsured with quality healthcare.
In 2009, the Foundation contributed $75,000 to the Center for operations. With the current economy, the Health Center’s volume grew as more and more community members lost their jobs or their benefits. In fact, the Center’s numbers grew from an average of 20 new patients a month, to 20 to 30 new patients a week.
“We are so pleased to write this check out annually to the Health Center,” said Ruth Heideman, director of the Floyd Memorial Foundation. “Together we can provide access to quality healthcare to every community member regardless of their ability to pay, and that is a wonderful mission to accomplish.”
The Family Health Center is possible through the various funding, support and donated hours of medical professionals. The Family Health Center of Floyd County is located at 1000 E. Spring Street in New Albany.
