Floyd Memorial and Bass Pro Shop to Offer Free Men’s Health Fair

March 11, 2009

Men die at higher rates than women for the top 10 causes of death, yet according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention women are 100 percent more likely to receive preventive care and visit the physician for routine examinations. To help combat this health concern, Floyd Memorial’s Healthier Community Initiative and the Bass Pro Shop are hosting a Men’s Health Fair in Clarksville, Indiana on Saturday, March 21 from 1 to 5 p.m.

The event will include free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, body mass index (BMI), body fat, carbon monoxide, grip strength and sleep apnea screenings. Dr. Ganesh Rama, board-certified orthopedic surgeon will also be on hand to answer questions. In addition, participants can gather free health information and register for great door prizes including a gift certificate to the Bass Pro Shop. Pre-registration is not required.

This free event is made possible through grants provided to Floyd Memorial’s Healthier Community Initiative through the Floyd Memorial Foundation.
