Cancer Center of Indiana’s Therapeutic Massage Program Receives $15,000 in Grant Funding

Through the support of several generous organizations, Floyd Memorial Cancer Center of Indiana’s Therapeutic Massage Program is continuing its complimentary service to cancer patients and their caregivers.

The program received several generous grants, including a $5,000 grant from Horseshoe Foundation to fund massages for Floyd County residents who are receiving inpatient or outpatient treatments, a $5,000 grant from the Harrison County Community Foundation to fund massages for Harrison County residents who are receiving inpatient or outpatient treatments, and a $5,000 grant from the J. Patrick Barnes Nursing and Research and Evidence-Based Practice Grant that will go towards research on the benefits of massage in managing fatigue and insomnia in breast cancer patients.
