4-D Ultrasound Gives a Detailed Look at Your Baby Before Birth

March 9, 2009

Waiting can be the hardest part of pregnancy. That’s why many parents-to-be are excited about the 4-D  ultrasound at Floyd Memorial that lets you see your baby even before he or she is born. As medical  sonographer Susan Maschenik, RT, RDMS, described, “The image it provides is like looking in a window at the newest member of your family. You are welcome to invite grandparents, aunts, sisters or anyone you  would like to have share in this special event.”
It’s important to remember that this is not a diagnostic test, but simply for your enjoyment. You need to have had a previous ultrasound performed at your physician’s request. The 4-D ultrasound produces best
results during weeks 28, 29 or 30 of your pregnancy. It is performed by a registered medical sonographer and may be scheduled on weekdays between 1 and 9:30 pm. The fee of $120 includes several photographs and a CD you can take home with many more photos of your baby.
