John Clayton, D.O.
John Clayton, DO, FACOS, a 24-year surgical veteran, earned his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa and completed his residency training at Des Moines General Hospital. As one of the most experienced surgeons in the area for the treatment of GERD, Dr. Clayton performs laparoscopic repair of hiatal hernias. In addition, Dr. Clayton is experienced in other areas of general surgery including gastrointestinal endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery and surgical procedures for malignant and benign processes involving the colon, rectum, gallbladder, thyroid, breast, stomach, spleen and skin. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the Indiana State Osteopathic Associate, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. Dr. Clayton and his wife, Paula of 40 years, have three grown children. In his free time, Dr. Clayton enjoys automobile restoration, home remodel and repair, scuba diving and travel.
