Types of medical concerns treated at a Floyd Memorial Urgent Care Center might include:

  • sprained ankle or wrist
  • cut finger
  • allergies or asthma
  • ear or eye infections
  • painful sore throat
  • sinus infection
  • urinary tract infection
  • rash
  • headache
  • insect bite
  • upset stomach
  • flu

Depending on the patient’s medical problem, the Urgent Care staff may instead want the patient to go to the nearest emergency department. This may happen if the medical problem is very serious or if the staff feels they cannot provide the right kind of treatment.

When not to use Urgent Care

A person should not go to an urgent care center for severe breathing problems, chest pains, uncontrolled bleeding, or other symptoms of a life-threatening emergency. If you or a family member has any of these problems, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department right away.
