• Kris Abeln

    Kris Abeln, M.D.

    Board certified orthopedic and sports medicine physician, Kris Abeln, MD, graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2004 and then went on to complete his internship in general surgery in 2005 and residency in orthopedics from the University of Illinois in 2009. After his residency, Dr. Abeln completed a sports medicine fellowship with the Santa Monica Orthopedic Group in California. Dr. Abeln is a member of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, and has served as team physician for U of L and IUS athletics.

    Johna Bott, P.A.-C.

    Orthopedic Physician Assistant, Johna Bott, PA-C, is a graduate of Indiana University Southeast with a bachelor of arts in chemistry. After working as a chemist and lab technician for several years, Johna decided to continue her education, earning a master of science in physician assistant studies in 2008 from the University of Kentucky. Johna has experience in a variety of specialties including surgery, urgent and emergency care, family and internal medicine, gastroenterology and more. Johna is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants and the American College of Gastroenterology.

  • Frank Castro

    Frank Castro, M.D.

    Board certified orthopedic spine surgeon, Frank Castro, MD, graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine in 1993. He then went on to complete his internship in general surgery in 1994 and residency in orthopedics from Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans in 1998. After his residency, he completed an orthopedic spine fellowship at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Dr. Castro is a member of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

  • Mohammad Majd

    Mohammad Majd, M.D.

    Dr. Mohammad E. Majd is fellowship trained in spine surgery, hand and microsurgery and orthopedic trauma. His focus is on minimally invasive solutions to orthopedic spine conditions, such as scoliosis, osteoporosis, adult deformity, disc arthroplasty, non-fusion technologies, fractures and degenerative disc disease. In addition, he assists in the spine fellowship training program, has numerous publications, participated in several FDA studies and has membership in several medical societies.

    Norman Silva, P.A.-C.

    Norman Silva, PA-C, board certified physician assistant, received his undergraduate degree in 2004 from Cornell University School of Agriculture and Life Sciences. In 2014, Norman completed his Masters of Medical Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Wake Forest School of Medicine. Norman has completed specialty training in the areas of internal and family medicine, orthopedics, and trauma surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Indiana Academy of Physician Assistants, and Physician Assistants in Orthopedic Surgery. Norman is a native of Floyds Knobs where he lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their twins Jasper and Alexina.

  • Aniefiok Uyoe

    Aniefiok Uyoe, M.D.

    Aniefiok Uyoe, MD, is a board certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with expertise in adult reconstructive surgery. Dr. Uyoe specializes in knee and hip total joint replacements, including minimally invasive treatment options. He sees patients at the Group’s New Albany location. Dr. Uyoe received his medical degree at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed an orthopedic internship and residency at Howard University in Washington, D.C. He received his fellowship training from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia in adult reconstruction. His fellowship included training in complex primary and revision total knee and hip arthroplasty, hip and knee arthroscopic surgery, computer assisted surgery, adult pelvic osteotomies and unicondylar knee arthroplasty. Dr. Uyoe’s areas of expertise include adult reconstructive surgery, complex primary and revision total knee and hip arthroplasty, hip and knee arthroscopic surgery, adult pelvic osteotomies and unicondylar knee arthroscopy.
