Floyd Memorial Offering Free Pink Ribbon Pilates Classes to Breast Cancer Patients and Survivors

February 26, 2014

Thanks to a generous grant from the Floyd Memorial Foundation, Floyd Memorial Rehabilitation Services and the Cancer Center of Indiana are now offering two free Pink Ribbon Pilates classes per week to breast cancer patients and survivors.

A free 4:30 p.m. class on Wednesdays has been active since the beginning of the year, but the response has been so positive and overwhelming, that the Foundation recently approved a second grant to offer an additional free class on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. Classes take place at Floyd Memorial Physical Therapy-Charlestown Road in New Albany (behind Kohl’s).

Pink Ribbon Pilates classes are aimed at helping post-surgical breast cancer patients and survivors regain their mobility, range of motion and self-confidence.  It is also a great workout that helps to manage weight.  Classes are taught by certified breast cancer exercise specialist and certified Pilates instructor, Susie Stewart.

All breast cancer patients and survivors are welcome, regardless of where treatment occurred.
