On Saturday, November 10, Floyd Memorial’s Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate and Wound Healing Center will host a Free Diabetes Fair and Foot Screening for the community. The event will feature free foot screenings, A1C blood sugar and blood pressure screenings, sleep apnea and body composition screenings, all valued at over $300.
One-on-one consultation with a Certified Diabetes Educator will be offered to those with concerning results, and podiatrists will also be on hand to review foot-screening findings. Booths offering information on a variety of diabetes-related topics, including weight management, sleep conditions, footwear and wound healing/prevention will also be available, as well as lots of great giveaways.
Participants are asked to avoid wearing pantyhose, as shoes and socks must be removed for the screenings.
