February 21, 2012

New Albany, IN – On Tuesday, February 14, 2012, the Sons of The American Legion donated 15 Josh Dog Kits to Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services. The Josh Kit includes a storybook titled, I’ll Be O.K., written by Dr. Randy Lange, and a life-like Josh plush retriever puppy to help ease anxiety and bring comfort to children undergoing procedures at the hospital.

Josh and Friends was developed by Dr. Lange, a veterinarian, to benefit children receiving medical treatment.  Josh is based on Dr. Lange’s family Golden Retriever and the power of the human and animal bond between children and pets.

“The Josh Kit will we a wonderful way to help bring comfort to the children we treat.  Being in a hospital can be scary and overwhelming for anyone, especially a child, and we are thrilled to be the recipient of this terrific gift which will help ease the children’s anxiety,” said Ruth Heideman, Executive Director of the Floyd Memorial Foundation.
