New Albany, IN – The Floyd Memorial Women’s Imaging Center was recently designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Floyd Memorial is now one of four facilities in the Louisville Metro area to have this designation. Of the Metro area, Floyd Memorial is the only Indiana facility.
This designation recognizes that Floyd Memorial’s Women’s Imaging Center has earned accreditation in all of the College’s voluntary, breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program.
“At the Floyd Memorial Women’s Imaging Center we are dedicated exclusively to women’s health and we are proud to receive recognition for the quality care we provide,” said Sarah Leis, RT(R)(M), RDMS, RVT, Radiology Manager.
Floyd Memorial’s breast imaging services are fully accredited in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. Peer-review evaluations, conducted in each breast imaging modality by board certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field, have determined that this facility has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs.
