The Floyd Memorial Foundation and the Floyd Memorial Auxiliary each recently contributed $17,500 to the Floyd County “Blessing in a Backpack” food program aimed at fighting hunger to all students grades K -5 in their school district (about 2,215 children in 13 schools who qualify for the Free/Reduced Price Meal program.

“We are proud to partner with such a worthy organization,” said Ruth Heideman, Executive Director of the Floyd Memorial Foundation.  It is difficult to think that children in our community have been going hungry, but through the “Blessing in Backpack” program, we can make a difference!”
