Kids’ Fun Fair & Fitness Challenge Set for April 23

April 13, 2011

In an effort to combat childhood obesity and encourage the adoption of active lifestyles early in life, the Floyd Memorial Weight Management Center is sponsoring a Kids’ Fun Fair & Fitness Challenge for the local community on Saturday, April 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will take place at Sam Peden Community Park on Grantline Road in New Albany, Indiana.

There will be local high school and college athletes available to help children experience first-hand how fun an active lifestyle can be. Kids can participate in a variety of games and challenges, tackle an obstacle course, build their own healthy snacks and try out a variety of sports.

Parents can also get involved. They will learn how to read and understand complicated food labels, receive information on healthy lifestyle skills and be given free BMI measurements for their children and themselves. They will also have the opportunity to enroll their child(ren) in the Floyd County Fitness Challenge that will commence this summer.

Come join us for a fun-filled morning of healthy activities, games, prizes and great giveaways!
