Non-invasive screenings are available for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm, Peripheral Artery Disease and Carotid Artery Disease. Floyd Memorial’s Women’s Imaging Center offers pDXA heel screenings for osteoporosis. The pDXA screening is a scan of the bone density of the heel. Floyd Memorial’s Healthier Community Initiative offers a free Car Seat Fitting Station on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. by appointment. Have your seat checked by certified car seat technicians. Floyd Memorial’s Joslin Diabetes Center offers Balance and Control, a recognized by the American Diabetes Association program designed for individuals looking to get their diabetes under control, new to diabetes or new to insulin. Floyd Memorial’s Joslin Diabetes Center will offer a Pre-Diabetes Class on Friday, October 8 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. If you have pre-diabetes, or are overweight and 45 or older, you are at high risk of developing type-2 diabetes.
