Free Seminar Focuses on the Link Between Back Pain and Osteoporosis

June 16, 2010

While osteoporosis affects all the bones of the body, one of the most common complaints with the condition is back pain due to the amount of pressure placed daily on the vertebrae. In fact, over 40,000 spine fractures are seen annually in patients with osteoporosis.

To explain the connection between back pain and osteoporosis, Orthopedic/Spine Surgeon Mohammad Majd, M.D., will provide a free seminar on lower back pain and osteoporosis including treatment options and preventive measures, on Thursday, June 24 at 6 p.m. in Floyd Memorial’s Paris Health Education Center.

Dr. Majd will discuss minimally invasive surgical treatment options for fractures most commonly associated with osteoporosis.

Registration is requested for this event by calling 1-800-4-SOURCE (1-800-476-8723) or visiting www.floydmemorial.com and clicking on Classes and Events.
