Floyd Memorial Foundation Seeking Sponsors for Annual Golf Benefit

May 28, 2010

The Floyd Memorial Foundation is counting down the days till its largest fundraising event of the year, the annual Golf Classic.  This year, the event will be held Friday, June 25 at Fuzzy Zoeller’s Covered Bridge Golf Club in Sellersburg. All funds raised from the event will go towards the Foundation’s Healthier Community Initiative (HCI) which provides free health screenings and wellness activities for the community. In 2009, the Foundation donated over $200,000 for HCI funding.

Sponsorships are available at many different levels and can include a team of four with choice of morning or afternoon play.  Sponsorships start at $125 for a Friend level and go up to $10,000 for an Eagle Sponsorship.  A complete listing of opportunities and benefits can be found online at www.floydmemorial.com, just click on the Golf Benefit icon or contact Ruth Heideman, Director of the Foundation at 812-949-5519.

“With the challenging economy, we find more and more community members are depending on the free health screenings and programs that we are providing through the Healthier Community Initiative,” says Ruth Heideman. “The funds we raise through the Golf Classic go directly towards improving the health of the community.  We hope the community and business leaders will partner with us this year to help us fulfill that mission.”

The day of golf is played in a scramble format and teams compete for prizes including closest to the pin, hole in one, and longest drive.  Sponsors confirmed for the event to date include: The Hartfield Company, BB&T, Priority Radiology/Radiology Associates, Merrill Lynch, Your Community Bank, Callistus Smith Agency, Inc., Healthcare Strategy Group, LLC, McKesson, Renaissance Investment Management and Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital.
