Floyd Memorial Announces Newest Associates of the Quarter

December 14, 2009

Nominated for their commitment to the hospital’s CA.R.E. standards, courtesy, attitude, respect and enthusiasm, Floyd Memorial’s newest Associates of the Quarter are Arnetta Owen, Human Resources, and Susan Clark, RN, Surgical Inpatient Unit.

Humble, selfless and dedicated are words used daily to describe Arnetta Owen, benefits specialist in Floyd Memorial’s Human Resources Department and the non-clinical Associate of the Quarter. Her job requires her to interact with every associate in the hospital. As noted in her nomination, she will stop whatever she is doing to answer an associate’s question, even coming in after hours and on weekends to offer assistance. With more than 41 years of service to the hospital, this quote from her nomination explains why she was selected for this distinction, “She (Arnetta) is devoted to the hospital and to doing whatever she can to help a fellow associate in whatever they need and is always willing to work over and, do extra jobs even if it is not related to her job, and she always does it with a smile.”

The clinical Associate of the Quarter is Susan Clark, RN, a charge nurse on the Surgical Inpatient Unit and a Floyd Memorial associate for over 25 years. Susan exemplifies the hospital’s standards, serving as a good example to others and showing enthusiasm for her job by volunteering for various committees that promote the nursing profession throughout the hospital. From spearheading the development of a nursing training program for new hires to serving as a mentor and resource to other nurses, Susan is noted for working hard to improve patient care and patient outcomes.

Associates of the Quarter receive a prime parking spot for the quarter, roses, a $100 gift certificate to the place of their choice and internal and external recognition. Currently, Floyd Memorial is looking for more exceptional people to join their team. To see available employment opportunities, visit www.floydmemorial.com/careers.
