Floyd Memorial Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate and Wound Healing Center to Host Free Diabetes Fair and Foot Screening

Diabetes can be an overwhelming condition for many patients. From counting carbs and testing blood sugars to daily feet checks and understanding medications, maintaining good health with diabetes is undoubtedly a challenge. But for those patients who are up to the task, knowledge truly is power.
On Saturday, November 7, 2009, Floyd Memorial’s Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate and Wound Healing Center will host a free Diabetes Fair and Foot Screening. The event will feature free foot screenings, free blood sugar and A1C testing, booths offering information on a variety of diabetes-related topics, including weight management, wound healing/prevention, and diabetes-related diet and exercise tips, as well as lots of free giveaways.
What: Diabetes Fair and Foot Screening
Where: Floyd Memorial Paris Health Education Center
When: Saturday, November 7, 8-11 a.m.
Cost: FREE
Foot screenings will be performed on a first-come-first-serve basis and will not require an appointment. Participants are asked to avoid wearing pantyhose, as shoes and socks must be removed for the screenings.
