Diabetes can be an overwhelming condition for many patients. From counting carbs to testing blood sugars to understanding medications, maintaining good health with diabetes is undoubtedly a challenge. But for those patients who are up to the task, knowledge truly is power.
Beth Ackerman, RD, CDE, a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator with the Floyd Memorial Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate, will offer a free “Grocery Shopping for Diabetes” guided tour at the Kroger on State Street in New Albany on Tuesday, September 15 from 8:30-10 a.m. The tour will include tips for stocking your refrigerator and pantry with healthy, diabetes-friendly products, as well as helpful advice on how to prepare healthy yet satisfying meals and snacks. Patients and loved ones with diabetes, pre-diabetes or those just looking to improve their health are welcome to attend.
