New Exciting Volunteer Activities Available at Floyd Memorial

April 20, 2009

Do you enjoy meeting new people and are looking for a way to be actively involved in your community. Why not volunteer at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services? Floyd Memorial’s Volunteer Services is looking for people of all ages to join its volunteer team and has two new programs that they need assistance in providing:

Drivers for the New Auxiliary Shuttle: The Floyd Memorial Auxiliary has graciously donated a Scion xB that will be driven around the main parking lot during busy hours to safely deliver patients and visitors to and from the hospital. Volunteer shuttle drivers must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and insurance and a good driving record.

Greeter and Patient Information for Sunday Mornings: The hospital is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and we need some smiling faces to assist our visitors on Sunday morning from 8 a.m. until Noon. Volunteers would greet guests in our main lobby and personally escort them to their destination or answer their questions.

Floyd Memorial’s Volunteer Services program offers training, great benefits and a wonderful network for socializing and building friendships. In addition to the two new opportunities, the program is always actively recruiting volunteers for a variety of duties. In 2008, the hospital’s volunteers donated over 37,800 hours of time throughout the hospital supporting its patients, staff and physicians.
