Floyd Memorial Swears in New Board Members

New Albany, Ind. – February 11, 2008

The Floyd County Commissioners appointed two new community members to serve on Floyd Memorial’s Board of Trustees. Marc J. McCormick, CPA and Ernest W. “Bill” Smith, JD were sworn in by the Honorable J. Terrence Cody, Floyd County Circuit Court Judge, on Tuesday, January 22 in the hospital’s main lobby.

McCormick is a certified public accountant who has been with Melhiser Endres Tucker for 31 years and is currently an officer of the firm. He is president of the Ed Endres Boys & Girls Club of New Albany and a treasurer and board member of Our Lady of Perpetual Hope Catholic Church and School. McCormick and his wife Nancy reside in New Albany with their two children; Amy and Marc.

Smith recently retired from the practice of law after more than 40 years of practice in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Most recently, he was a senior member of the firm Smith, Bartlett, Heeke, Carpenter, Thompson & Fondrisi. He is an active member and contributing author to the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation and magazine, and a charter member of Cornerstone Evangelical Methodist Church where he is an active Sunday school teacher. Smith and his wife Janet reside in New Albany and have four children and seven grandchildren.

The 2008 Board of Trustees also includes Stuart Eldridge, M.D., Kathlyn M. Garry, Don E. Gibbons, Von A. Marshall, Keith J. Megraw, Guy O. Wall, Ph.D., and Chairman Jerrol Z. Miles.
