January 26, 2008

NEW ALBANY – January 26-28, 2008

Dr. Vasti Broadstone, endocrinologist with the Floyd Memorial Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate, has been selected to participate in an elite international inhaled insulin advisory board composed of renowned diabetes specialists from all over world. The board will meet in Paris, January 26-28 and will review inhaled insulin trials that have taken place throughout the world (including Floyd Memorial), over the past year and will continue for an additional year. The goal of the meeting is to examine first year results and provide insights and recommendations for year two of this groundbreaking study on treating Type 1 diabetes with inhaled powder insulin rather than the traditional shots or pump methods. Dr. Broadstone and her colleagues will also discuss parameters for an upcoming study of the drug for treatment of Type 2 diabetes.
